Anime LA 2008 Part 3- Of Yaoi and Bribes

Day Two- Saturday, 1.5.08
Saturday was really, really awesome. This was the day I met Axel and Roxas, who are awesome- check out their dA pages, meow-woof.deviantart.com and rikax.deviantart.com.
We woke up around 8 or 9. Kyouya was being very Kyouya-esque and refused to get up. After getting ready, we went down and glomped an Axel. I love Axel! Hunny, Soubi and I went back up to the room so Hunny could change into Kio from Loveless and we ran into Axel's mom, who remember me as the girl who had glomped her daughter. Hunny changed and we went back down with Soubi's iHome. We had a little dance party in the hallway and ran into Axel and Roxas again, who joined the party. Afterwards I bought some stuff at the dealer's hall, and artist's alley, including 26 badges from Scuttlebutt, Inc. Hunny, dressed as Kio from Loveless, got some ribbons from Chaz to pass out that said Silly Ribbon. We met a lady on the elevator Hunny gave the second-to-last one to. I changed into Tamaki, and on the way back down we met her again and she gave me a Secret Asian Man ribbon, and another ribbon that I gave to Soubi in exchange for a Silly Ribbon from Hunny. It was 11:00
I was a little late to the Ouran gathering, but got in on the group photo that was being taken. I was the only Tamaki, which was AWESOME! Kyle, a guy I met at our host club, gave me my button that he had found on the puzzle table. After the photos we grabbed some snack that were put out. Hungry hungry hosts.
I went and got my button sewed back on, picking up a repair station ribbon while I was there. Then I (finally) got my bag (they had been out when I got my badge), and a 'my first time' ribbon and hung with some Loveless cosplayers, during which time bribed a Soubi and Ritsuka $20 to make out for several minutes. I then booked it over to the yaoi gathering and meet up with the rest of the gang, where I got a smexy drawing, fought with Hikaru over Kaoru, and then the most fantastic thing in the entire con (at least in this yaoi fangirl's opinion) happened: two guys-kinda youngish, maybe 14?- cosplaying as L and Light started horsing around. Someone gave L a yaoi paddle and he got on top of Light (who was on his hands and knees) and started spanking him with it. I was in heaven!! I gave L $5 because it was the best thing I had ever seen. Then L, Light, and Misa were all arguing, Misa trying to protect Light, L trying to kiss him.
L said: You know we have to do it.
Light: I just have this to say first...*runs away*
Then we caught him for L and they started making out. They fell into the bushes and THEN L laid down on the ground.
L: Be gentle.
Then they made out some more on the ground, and I gave Light $10 all in all it was the MOST FREAKIN' AMAZING THING EVER!!!!!!!! After that the Team Banzai auction started. I won a man, tried to buy Axel, and lusted after the guy with long hair and the guy with his shirt open. AFTER that I bribed Kyouya $4 to make out with me, to the delight of the fangirls, and told him he wasn't worth five, which lead to a discussion as to how much each person was worth, to me, to make out with from $1-$10. I then kidnapped a girl's Axel plushie and made out with it, and then had a threesome with a Sora and a Roxas plushie. Then I made out with a Heartless, Saïx and a maid. And I got a stereo someone had left, which I later turned into the lost and found. *phew* That's a lot of stuff for one gathering, isn't it?

Anime LA 2008 Part Two-It's only just begun

Day One, continued

In the morning we raced around like chickens with our heads cut off trying to finish everything for our cosplay. We could see cosplayers emerging from their lairs, and we were anxious to get downstairs. Finally we were ready!

We checked out the Dealer’s Hall for a bit, and then went to Opening Ceremonies, where we learned how Tadao Tomomatsu once actually managed to burn sushi. We got two ribbons there Bryan Wong’s “Bear a plucky fruit” and Vic Mignogna’s “Excites Easily” (which is perfect for me!). Then Haruhi, Kyouya, and I went back to the Dealer’s Hall. Kyouya disappeared and I went to find the twins. I found them in the karaoke room (there we got 'karoke addict' ), and we sung “Love Shack”, “We Will Rock You” (with Mori), and a stupendous performance of “The Internet is for Porn”, with audience participation! Throughout the day we had been passing out invites to a host club in our room starting at 5:00, so at 4:00 we left to go set up.

We brewed black and green tea, and laid out a tray of cookies, artistically arranged by moi. The guests trickled in at first, but by 5:20 we had a good group going. Also Hunny and and her friend Soubi. Then someone set up iSpeakers and started playing “Sakura Kiss” and “Hare Hare Yukai” and everyone was dancing. Then I broke out the glowsticks, turned off the lights and we had ourselves a rave! Unfortunately, we had to end it at 6:30 to get ready for the AMV contest.

The AMV contest was really good. I thought the action category was a little weak, but in the drama category, and especially the comedy category, it was really hard to pick just one.

After hanging around the hallway for awhile, and setting up my glowsticks (note to self: never go with cheap glowsticks again. They had weak color, died fast, and not all of them worked), the dance started. I danced with Kaoru and made out with her a little, but the music sucked and she was tired so we hung out on beanbags in the hallway, went to bed around 11:30. Of course, by ‘go to bed’ I mean we changed into pjs and attempted to sleep. Everyone gave up in about 5 minutes and everyone was so tired we got hyper. We went down to the courtyard and danced around in the rain, in our bare feet, and raced up and down the hall. Finally we all went to sleep.

Anime LA 2008 Part One-Damn they move fast!

Now that I'm all rested and refreshed, I give you Anime LA 2008!

Day Zero- Thursday, 1.3.08
    I flew into Burbank from PDX (visiting family for the holidays), arriving mid-afternoon. I struggled with my three suitcases before giving in and getting a cart. Took the shuttle to the hotel and settled in. I was the first of my friends to arrive, so I had plenty of time to organize and arrange everything. I discovered I had left my camcorder in Portland, that was annoying.
    Around 6:00 everyone else arrived: Kyouya, Hikaru, and Kaoru by taxi from the Greyhound station, David by train, and Haruhi got dropped off by her mom. We immediately got down to work. Haruhi, Hikaru, and I (Tamaki) tried on our outfits, and Kaoru started cutting and styling the wigs, as well as finishing her and Kyouya's outfits. Then we discovered Haruhi didn't have any men's dress shoes and Kyouya didn't have black pants. And everyone was hungry. It was time to mount an expedition to Target.
    Haruhi, Kyouya, David, and I got directions from the front desk and was told it was a 20 minute walk. Once we arrived, we got dress shoes, swim trunks for the whirlpool, black pants for Kyouya, food to last us the weekend, hairspray and supplies for the host club we were going to have on Friday.
    We finally got back to the hotel, picked up our badges and decided to hit the whirlpool. We found out it was closed and at that point we were all kind of tired, so we went to sleep.

Day One- Friday, 1.4.08
I woke up a little after midnight to hear something along the lines of 'ah,ah,ah,ah!'. Kyouya and Haruhi had been flirting all evening, so it wasn't really a surprise to hear them fooling around, but damn, they moved fast! Kyouya got up to use the bathroom, and I started talking to Haruhi, and Kyouya when he came back. Then they went out to walk around, I fooled around with David a little, and we talked more when they returned before going to sleep again.

I Love Cons

I just got back from Anime LA, but before I collapse into an exhausted post-con sleep, I had to start this blog. I can't just keep my memories inside, I must share them with the world! And so I write. I'll post again in a few hours with my account of ALA 08.
